The survey of gas distribution networks is very complex and normally
requires several instruments for various purposes. The following
summary explains which type of instrument is most suitable for
your particular application: |
EX-TEC® SR 5 (Ex-protected)
|
|
Gas detection -
above-ground gas indication in the survey of distribution
networks (ppm range)
House service lines - location of leaks
on lines inside buildings (vol. % range)
Controlling hollow spaces - survey on
approaching the lower explosion level
(%LEL range)
Localisation - measuring concentration
in probe holes (vol. % range)
Gasing and inertisation - measuring concentration
in pipes (vol. % range) |
|
EX-TEC® SR 4 (Ex-protected)
|
|
Controlling hollow
spaces - survey on approaching the lower explosion
level
(%LEL range)
Localisation - measuring concentration
in probe holes (vol.% range)
Gasing and inertisation - measuring concentration
in pipes (vol.% range) |
|
EX-TEC® SR 2 (Ex-protected)
|
|
Localisation -
measuring concentration in probe holes (vol.% range)
Gasing and inertisation - measuring concentration
in pipes (vol.% range) |
|
VARIOTEC® 8-EX (Ex-protected)
|
|
Gas detection -
above-ground gas indication in the survey of distribution
networks (ppm range)
Localisation - measuring concentration
in probe holes (vol.% range) |
|

For the various applications there are also different types
of probes availanle: |
Probes for the survey of gas distribution
networks
Carpet probe
for the survey of paved surfaces, the probe is being sucked
in without disturbing waste fumes via a neoprene mat covering
the surface with a pressed-in dome. Bell probe, telescopic
bell probe
for the survey of unpaved or overgrown surfaces, enabling
freedom for movement (e.g. between parking vehicles or in
front yards). These probes are suitable for the EX-TEC®
SR 5 and VARIOTEC® 8-EX.
|
|
|
|
Probes for localisation
Localisation probe
for measuring concnetration in probe holes, with a hard
rubber cone to seal the probe hole, 2 different pipe tips
(245 mm or 345 mm length), sodium lime filter to eliminate
CO2 in gas probes. The search probe is suitable for all
instruments from the EX-TEC® SR
and VARIOTEC® range.
|
|
|
|
Probes for localisation and controlling
hollow spaces
Floating probe
for measuring concentrations in pits, with suction vent
and hose connection. |
|
|
|
|
Divisible hand probe
for the detection of leaks in pipes installed in poorly
accessible places, measuring of concentration in containers,
overall lentgh 900 mm. These probes are suitable for the
EX-TEC® SR 5, EX-TEC®
SR 4 and EX-TEC® SR
2 instruments |
|
|
|
Probes for house service lines
Flexible hand probes
for the detection of leaks in house service lines, handle
with flexible swan neck and probe hose, overall length 360
mm or 660 mm. These probes are suitable for the EX-TEC®
SR 5 only. |

Test sets
|
|
According to DVGW-Regulation
G465/IV all instruments which are used for regular gas leak
detection have to be checked daily in respect of sensitivity
before such work is carried out. This control entails the
gasing from a pressure test gas can (or bottle, resp.) and
also the control of the pump capacity with a flow meter.
For these purposes there are several test
sets and test gas cans available. |
